Meet Rita Monteiro
Founder & Owner

With a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from John Molson, Rita brings 15 years of expertise in marketing and project management. Her successful corporate career laid the foundation, but her passion for making a direct impact in the community led her to launch Alivio Downsizing.

As a military spouse, Rita has navigated the challenges of frequent household moves, mastering the logistics of upsizing, downsizing, and estate clearing. Her strong multitasking, problem-solving skills, and firsthand experience make her an invaluable asset to families looking for a seamless, compassionate transition.

Rita is deeply committed to supporting seniors and families during their most complex transitions. Her goal is to provide tailored solutions that manage these life changes with dignity, grace, and respect.

As the Founder & Owner of Alivio Downsizing, Rita is proud to lead a dedicated team that works tirelessly to provide personalized services, whether you’re downsizing, clearing an estate, or simply in need of expert support. Meet Myra Afidchao
Regional Manager

Myra brings over 15 years of experience working in the senior care industry to her role as Regional Manager at Alivio Downsizing. Throughout her career, she has held various positions supporting older adults and their families as they navigated important care, mobility, and lifestyle decisions, helping them access everything from mobility equipment to assistive devices to hospital beds. She also worked as a Care Coordinator at a well-known home care agency, where she managed in-home care services and coordinated care between clients, personal support workers, and nurses.

This extensive and well-rounded background has given Myra a deep understanding of seniors’ unique needs, the complexities of healthcare collaboration, and the importance of providing thoughtful, compassionate support during major life transitions.

Since joining Alivio Downsizing, first as an organizer, then as Business Development Representative, and now as Regional Manager, Myra has played a key role in growing the organization’s reach, building strong community partnerships, and delivering exceptional service to clients and families. She takes great pride in knowing that her work makes a meaningful difference, helping people navigate the often overwhelming process of downsizing with calm, reassurance, and care.

Outside of work, Myra enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, staying active outdoors, whether walking, hiking, or swimming, and discovering new places through her love of travel. She’s also a big fan of trying new foods (she’ll happily eat just about anything… and prefers to leave most of the cooking to others).
