Canada is aging \u2014 quickly. The Globe and Mail\u2019s recent feature, \u201cI think my aging parent needs to move out of their home. Now what?\u201d<\/em><\/a>, highlights a reality millions of Canadians are facing: how to help an aging parent transition safely when home is no longer the right place.<\/p>\n

But the national conversation often leaves out a critical step.<\/p>\n

Before a senior can move into independent living, assisted living, or long-term care\u2026
their home must first be sorted, cleared, and made safe.<\/strong>
And for most families, that is the hardest part.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, 27% of seniors live alone<\/strong><\/a>, the highest rate in the G7:<\/p>\n

This increases the risk of unsafe living conditions, falls, and isolation.
In fact, the Public Health Agency of Canada<\/strong><\/a> reports that falls are the leading cause of injury-related hospitalizations among seniors:<\/p>\n

For many adult children, recognizing that \u201chome is no longer safe\u201d comes only after a crisis.<\/p>\n
